For one, new batch of information about the new guys revealed in this issue:
Kibago (キバゴ), the Tusk Pokemon
Type: Dragon
Height:0.6m
Weight: 18.0kg
Ability: Rivalry/Mold Breaker
New attacks: Double Chop (ダブルチョップ), which hits the opponent twice.
Its name probably derives from 'kiba' (fang) and 'ago' (Jaw).
Koromori (コロモリ), the Bat Pokemon,
Type: Psychic/Flying
Height:0.4m
Weight: 2.1kg
Ability: Unaware/Klutz
New attacks: Heart Stamp (ハートスタンプ), which can cause the opponent to flinch.
Minezumi (ミネズミ), the Lookout Pokemon,
Type: Normal
Height: 0.5m
Weight: 11.6kg
Ability: Run Away/Keen Eye
New attacks: You First (おさきにどうぞ), which allows the opponent to move first.
Rankurusu (ランクルス), the Amplification Pokemon,
Type: Psychic
Height: 1m
Weight: 20.1kg
Ability: Magic Guard/Dust-Proof (ぼうじん), a new ability which prevents your Pokemon from taking damage from weather effects
Its name may derive from 'ranma' (chaos) and Homunculus
Gochiruzeru (ゴチルゼル), the Celestial Body Pokemon,
Type: Psychic
Height: 1.5m
Weight: 44.0kg
Ability: Frisk
New attacks: Magic Room, which takes away the effects of items for 5 turns.
Its name may derive from 'gochikku' (Japanese romanization of 'Gothic') and Madmoiselle.
Wargle (ウォーグル), the Valor Pokemon,
Type: Normal/Flying
Height: 1.5m
Weight: 41.0kg
Ability: Keen Eye/Encourage
New attacks: Free Fall (フリーフォール), which involves the Pokemon grabbing the opponent, lifting it into the air, and then on the next turn throwing it to the ground.
Its name may derive from 'war' and 'eagle'. I really wish the thing was a fighting/flying type instead.
Musharna (ムシャーナ), the Trance Pokemon,
Type: Psychic
Height: 1.1m
Weight: 60.5kg
Ability: Forewarn/Synchronize
Evolves from Munna through yet unknown means. Both it and its pre-evolved form give off some kind of Dream Smoke.
Several more things were revealed:
* A new ability called Telepathy, which prevents Pokemon from receiving damage from the attacks of their team-mates.
* A new, unnamed attack which, for one turn, causes all team members to avoid attacks that hit all team members.
* More was explained about the position mechanism behind 3-on-3 battles:
- The PokeMon in the center position can attack all three of the opponents. If it uses an attack that targets all PokeMon on the field, it will be especially powerful.
- The PokeMon on the sides can attack the PokeMon opposite to them and the PokeMon in the center position - but not the third PokeMon.
- You can shift the positions of your PokeMon around in battle.
* Rankurusu and Gochiruzeru are version-exclusives. It is yet unknown which PokeMon goes in which Version.
* Pokemon White will exclusively feature White Forest while Pokemon Black will exclusively feature Black City. It appears that there may be other cities that look different based on the version even though they are the same city. This may have something to do with the plot: It is revealed that the character that we know as N will challenge you throughout the game in order to confirm his ideas of justice - He calls Pokemon his "friends"... but one of the screenshots shows him saying that he wants to split humans and Pokemon and divide them so that the world is black and white - and set Pokemon free from people. It is said that he's looking for the power to grant these ideals. Could it be possible that he succeeds, which is what leads to the split in the versions and that it's your duty to undo what he has done? Only speculation, but that could be seriously cool.
* Belle and Cheren, your childhood friends, apparently start their journey in Isshu on the same day as you and grab the two starters you didn't - meaning that for the first time, no starter is left untouched. Another interesting tidbit is that Isshu's route start all the way at 1 again - which is reasonable, considering it's supposedly a whole different area/continent/what have you.
* The Pokemon Global Link (the service that allows you to upload your Black and White save file to the Internet) is apparently unlockable once you obtain Musharna, the evolution of Munna.
The server itself has two modes.
- The World of Dreams, where you can send one PokeMon to through the Game Sync option in the C-Gear. Pokemon have their own rooms that they can play mini-games with other Pokemon in. Apparently, Pokemon that your Pokemon becomes friends with in the dream world can be taken back to the 'real world', that is, the game - including Pokemon not available in the Isshu PokeDex. (Does this mean it's the new Pal-Park for this game? Stay tuned.
- The other mode is an online battle mode - If you are registered through the Pokemon Global Link, you can have online battles using a "Rating Mode" or "Random Match" mode at the Global Terminal inside the Pokemon Centers - this sends your battle results to a server and you can compare your results to other players to see who is a strong Trainer. Official automated leagues? So it seems. The internets IS everywhere.
* Speaking of the C-Gear, you apparently obtain it from Makomo, Prof. Araragi's friend, after you do something for her. It apparently has features for every type of connection the DS has.
* The High Link is a building at the center of Isshu, through which you can connect to other players' games. Using the High Link, you can "travel to another player's world and adventure with them together". The extent of this is yet unknown.
* The DS's infrared signal allows having speedy battles with up to four players and speedy trades directly from your party or PC box. You can also automatically exchange friend codes over infrared now.
* Apparently the games also have a 'Live Caster' feature (not for the old DS or DS Lite), which allows you to use the DSi's camera to talk to friends through video feed - Locally, you can talk to up to four people (although what is the point?), while over Wi-Fi you can only talk to two. The Live Caster will have a pen and stamp tool so you can play with the pictures while using the video chat. This would have mattered little to most players if it wasn't for the fact Characters in the game ALSO use the Live Caster feature to talk to you. Remember that commercial where N' was talking to the main character all cinematically? Yeah. THAT was the Live Caster.
* There is a new feature called Feeling Check that checks the compatibility of players. One of the things it shows is a game where two people have to keep the same rhythm.
