New Pokemon Sunday video shows off some gameplay
« on: July 18, 2010, 02:22:10 PM »
A new video from this weeks Pokemon Sunday has appeared thanks to those at Filb.de. While it doesn't tell us anything new, it does show a nice amount of game footage - notably the new Pokemon in battle and some footage of the differences in Black and White while in a certain city.

It also shows how Dream World works - including the catching of a rather cute Pikachu.

From looking at the video, it's easy to be even more impressed by the sprite movements. Wargle's wingbeats - while simple enough to look at - really bring him to life and add that extra something to the games. Some of the attacks look awesome too, from Magic Room to what could to be 'Free Fall', the move that was revealed alongside Wargle as one of his attacks.

Click here to view the video and enjoy~

I am impressed. The bit where the green-haired bloke comes up and talks reminds me a lot of other games, especially the dating sims (>.>) - his mouth was moving, which makes me wonder if Nintendo might be moving toward voice acting. Of course this would be wierd, as the main character doesn't speak; would they be mute?

But anyway, sexy~

Thank you LoN

I like the way the camera moves in the beginning of a battle when it shows the trainer. Very cool. And, looking at Tatile's post, I'm thinking it could be like in some games, where the mouth moves as the text appears. Though voice acting would be a welcome change, I hope it doesn't go the way of Super Mario Sunshine. *shudders*

Seems pretty cool, And the animations definately help make the pokemon feel more alive. Now I'm more determined to get Pokabu, Rankurusu, Kibago, and Wargle. And I guess Mushama for the dream smoke thing, but hopefully I can get a Jolteon using that!
Changed the name cuz it wasn't catching on :/

I customized this avatar using a plz from Deviantart.

Aaaaanndd... Cue theme song!

Looks like the only difference between Black City and White Forest is cosmetic, and the mapping is the same. Not sure if I think that's a good thing or not.

OMG the Pokemon move! I heard it was possible, but seeing it! Cool! And the guy talking, Nintendo keps getting more and more advanced. I hate spoilers, but I love them too.

Hey, guys. Where did the information come from about which games Black City and White Forest would be in?

That latest video... it looks very much like Black City is in White and White Forest is in Black. That seems to be the opposite of what we originally thought. Can anyone confirm this?

Other sources are listing them as we have, so I'm not sure.  Either everyone's right or everyone's wrong on this xP
Do you remember that whole "existence of God" that I had so much trouble understanding?  Well guess what!  I think I'm starting to grasp it now.  Here's my theory:

Maybe, just maybe, it's a concept that's similar to a zero in mathematics.  In other words, it's a symbol that denies the absence of meaning, the meaning that's necessitated by the delineation of one system from another.  In analogue, that's God, in digital,  it's zero!  What do you think?" - Tachikoma, Ghost in the Shell.

The writing on the left says Pokemon Black. On the right it says Pokemon White. I can't read Japanese or anything, it's just I looked up 'White' online and it matches. Look here - The 'White' in the title matches the characters under 'Pokemon' on the right. From that I'd say it's safe to say that we have it correct, although if it isn't I'll now feel like a total idiot for trying to read a language that I don't know XD

I hope the White Forest is in Pokemon White though, because I'd prefer the forest to the city and i'm getting White~

Nah, you're probably right, Magpie. I'm not even sure which logo belongs to which game, so that's what confused me. XD

The white logo is the logo for Black, and the black logo is the logo for White. :X It's confusing, but it's that way because the name of the game is in the title's respective colour - so needs the opposite colour background for contrast.

The logos are written in Katakana, the Japanese dialect used for foreign words.

The one on the left, with a white face and black font, says ポケットモンスターブラック-Poketto Monsutaa Burakku-Pocket Monsters Black
The one on the right, with a black face and white font, says ポケットモンスターホワイト-Poketto Monsutaa Howaito-Pocket Monsters White

So those are indeed matched up with Black having Black City and White having White Forest.

Oh shoot. There aren't differences in the aesthetics of the two games...Just in White Forest and Black City. Whoops.
