The Third Generation of Pokemon games, also known as Advanced Generation, are available to play on the Game Boy Advance. Centring around Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, Generation III broke free from the continuous story of Kanto and Johto and introduced a completely separate and new region: Hoenn. Long established favourites from Generation I and Generation II were unavailable, as Hoenn brought with it a completely new and unique PokeDex, filled with 135 brand new Pokemon. Generation III was also incompatible with the previous Gens, further stamping out its role as a 'new start' within the Pokemon World. While many fans enjoyed the start over, many also disliked the lack of previous Pokemon, whom we all knew and loved. Nintendo had the answer...

Remakes of Generation I's Pokemon Red and Green enabled you to play with old favourites, with FireRed and LeafGreen taking place in the good old region of Kanto, beautifully updated with all of Generation III's improvements. It also brought with it the Sevii Islands, a series of Islands only found within FireRed and LeafGreen.
