Route 3 is the only place in Red and Blue versions where trainers will find Jigglypuff, although they may fall asleep before they manage to catch it.

Features

Route 3 is inaccessible until the player has defeated Brock in Pewter City. While it technically doesn't go all the way to Mt. Moon, only a very small area preceding the cave belongs to Route 4. This area contains a Pokemon Centre, one of very few outside the cities and towns of Kanto.

Events

• Inside the Pokemon Centre, a man will try to sell the player a Magikarp for 500. He does not offer refunds.

• The line: "Hi! I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!" is infamously said by one of the Youngsters on this route. In Japan, Youngsters were called "Shorts Youngsters".
