Japanese Name: Shin'ō-chihō

Sinnoh is the Northern most region to date and there for has a cooler climate, even having various cities and towns with snow in them. The region is cut in half by the monstrous Mount Coronet. The mountain range extends to the south into some other region. Mount Coronet is a vital point in Sinnoh as this is where the creation of the entire region is based around. It also can effect the evolution habits of various species of Pokemon. The Sinnoh region is heavy in mythology and lore, with the meaning of the Japanese name meaning just that.

Pokémon Available

Sinnoh and its new Pokédex brought along 107 brand new Pokemon. Unlike with the previous region of Hoenn, which went away from the previous Generations and established it's own Pokemon mainly, Sinnoh expanded on and evolved previous species of Pokemon.

Version Differences

Pokemon Platinum features a few areas which can't be found in Diamond and Pearl. One place of great importance, is the new Battle Park, is found only in the Platinum version. The other major location is the access to the Distortion World, which is where the Pokemon Giratina awaits as he greatly impacts the story in Platinum.

Giratina is the focus of the plot as opposed to Dialga or Palkia. Many other differences are abundant in the third part of the series, and can be found at the appropriate pages.

Many new characters can be found within the Sinnoh Region.

Gym Leaders

• Roark is the first gym leader and can be found in Oreburgh City. He specialises in Rock-type Pokemon.
• Gardenia is the second gym leader who resides in Eterna City. She is a trainer of Grass-type Pokemon.
• Maylene is the third gym leader and lives in Veilstone City. She trains Fighting-types.
• Crasher Wake is the fourth gym leader. He trains Water-types and is found in Pastoria City, Brother!
• Fantina is gym leader number five and lives in Hearthome City. She is a trainer of Ghost-types.
• Byron is the sixth gym leader. Living in Canalave City, he is a master of Steel-types.
• Candice is the seventh gym leaders. She dwell way up in Snowpoint City and challenges you with Ice-type Pokemon.
• Volkner is the eight and final gym leader. He trains Electric-type Poksemon and his gym can be found in Sunyshore City.

Elite Four

• Aaron will face you with an array of Bug-types.
• Bertha has a team of Ground-type Pokemon.
• Flint battles with Fire-type Pokemon.
• Lucian's team consists of mystical Psychic-types.
• Cynthia is the Sinnoh League Champion and her team consists of a wide array of Pokemon.
