Official artwork of the Wonder Launcher. The device is worn on a trainer's arm.
Japanese name: Miracle Shooter
The Wonder Launcher was first introduced in Black and White. This new feature allows players to use items (hyper potions, revives, and all that fun stuff) during multiplayer battles, but not quite the same way as usual. By building up points each turn, players are able to purchase items via the Wonder Launcher and give their Pokemon a boost.
Using the Wonder Launcher
The Wonder Launcher is pretty interesting from a battling perspective, and very easy to use. Here's a brief overview of what it can do and how it works.
The Basics
- The Wonder Launcher can be toggled on or off before you enter a battle.
- Both battlers must have the Wonder Launcher enabled in order to use it.
- Items can not be used from your inventory, they can only be accessed via the Wonder Launcher.
During Battles
- When the Wonder Launcher is enabled, it will replace the typical "Bag" option on your battle commands screen.
- Points are accumulated for both battlers each turn.
- You can spend the points you've earned to use items. The more points you've stocked up, the better the item you can use.
- Each item has a specific cost. See the tables below for further information.
- Just like within the games, using an item takes up one of your turns during the battle.
- If you switch your Pokemon out after using status boost items, or if they're forcefully switched by your opponent, the added effects will be lost.
Available Items and Point Costs
As mentioned above, each item costs a specific amount of points to use. How you spend your points is up to you, but be sure to do so wisely. A well timed item usage could turn the tide of battle, but you're not the only one who can use 'em.
Below you'll find a complete list of the available items for usage, each grouped by how many points they cost. It's interesting to note that a large number of these items only exist for usage with the Wonder Launcher and can not be obtained within the games.
