[1-100] [101-200] [201-300] [301-386]
| 301. Spinda-Kind of strange, but cute in a way. Each
one has a random number, which decides on the pattern of spots on
Spinda. I always thoguht this could be a Tediursa pre evo, or more
fittingly, an alternative evolution. However, because of it's uniqueness
I guess that was always out of the question. [The amount of combinations is, if i remember correctly from my dwellings in Serebii.net's Chatroom this summer, over 4 million. That's a lot, no?-Gary] |
|
| 302. Teddiursa-Cute little bugger, and a good Rper
I would assume. Apparently it's moon symbol detects oney, which
is pretty cool. [It's ok if you're going for small, but so doesn't reflect any power what-so-ever-Gary] |
|
| 303. Ursaring- Veeeeery cool looking, especially
that ring symbol. It too looks like a cool fighter, those arms rock. [Hyper Beam!!! Almost ever Pokemon can learn it but thanks to the anime Ursaring just screams Hyper Beam at me...-Gary] |
|
| 304. Gulpin- Indeed. Very strange and simple. Obviously
a new Grimer. Perhaps better looking than his RB counterpart, but
uglier. [Guplin's only use is as a football... and if someone ever rps against me with it i'll get my Pokemon to score a goal with it-Gary] |
|
| 305. Swalot-AKA Posh Muk, or one of those Piantas
from Super Mario Sunshine. I really don't know what to say, it sucks
visually. [I wanna claim the copyright on the name Posh Muk... I swear i was definitely one of the first to say it, everyone else was too busy relating it to that Sunshine thing... Either way it deserves to burn-Gary] |
|
| 306. Grimer-Grah, I never have liked the poison types, especially Grimer. Perhaps it's the lack of any real shape, I don't know. | |
| 307. Muk-Just a bigger grimer. You only ever seem
to see one arm, and it's anime version put me off for life. [I loved it in the anime, lol... It just killed things by existing! This is Tajiri's bash at pollution... claiming that humans made this monstrosity with their pollution and the problems it cause are our fault. If anything Muk can definitely be used to highlight this to kids-Gary] |
|
| 308. Murkrow-He's pretty cool, I like his "witches
hat" type head, and that tail shaped like broom head. I so
should have evolved in to a big black birdy, a dark Pidgeot type
of beast. [Never interested me, probably because like many of the G/S/C beasts it was badly unexposed-Gary] |
|
| 309. Hoppip- GS Oddish! Veeeeery simple, but neat.
The flying type may be a little unnecessary, but it's cute. The
anime ep when they flew in the wind was also cool. [It's becoming the Pokecharms Mascot... taking over even Flossy! It's leaf things i like you see and they can contribute to a Pokecharm in a Pokeball Collage-Gary] |
|
| 310. Skiploom-Kind of odd, especially that facial expression. Not too much to say really, I never used one! | |
| 311. Jumpluff-Heh, definitely Oddish inspired. Again,
quite simple, and I don't have much more to say about it unfortunately. [The line lost it after Hoppip... no cute appeal and no Pokecharms useage. Jumpluff is just another G/S Pokemon which got few fans because of underexposure and lack of any real appeal-Gary] |
|
| 312. Solrock- Heh, definitely cool. Lookswise any
way. [Useful in the Fire Deprived game of R/S because of it's Fire attacks bolted in with Psychic and Rock Attacks. A good move set is a bitch though.-Gary] |
|
| 313. Lunatone-Bland, but obviously built for 2 on
2 with Solrock. The sun is better though. [Lol... It's Loony Toon! Oh this thrilled us with joy on discovery of it's Japanese name... it's not really changed but it is the reason I nicknamed the one I got Bugs-Gary] |
|
| 314. Nosepass-This thing puzzles me. How the does
it move? It doesn't even look as if it could levitate. It was a
bitch in RS'' first gym though. [It's nose is meant to represent a compass and is always meant to point north... kinda messes up just about all rps you can think of-Gary] |
|
| 315. Baltoy- Extremely odd and boring. Horrible to use in RP, I would imagine, it's a damn spinning top! | |
| 316. Claydol-Horrible name, and look. It looks like
some kind of statuised Hoot Hoot, or Shakoumon. [Hehehehe... it's the only Pokemon i've ever related to a Digimon... The Tea Cup Set of Shakoumon and this it's weird love child both deserve to be burninated-Gary] |
|
| 317. Skitty-As with Swampert, I preferred the fan made version, who was a cute Meowth baby. It is cute though, and Pikachuish, good for RP, then. | |
| 318. Delcatty-Looks pretty cool, and was one of the first Pokemon I Rped against after my rise back to RP glory. Better than Skitty me thinks. | |
| 319. Meowth-I really prefer the sitting Meowths,
and not standing ones like recent sprites, which are obviously anime
influenced. It talking made me like it less, I prefer it in it's
"natural" state. [I personally like the shift towards the anime Meowth... but maybe that's just me-Gary] |
|
| 320. Persian-Veeeery cool. Obviously, because of
the anime, a symbol of power and importance, especially to "our"
Gary, for obvious RP reasons. It's move types vary, and I like it.
^_^ [I've seen one Fly.... Pokemon Stadium reallly freaked me out when it made Persian Fly-Gary] |
|
| 321. Kecleon-Ah, the nightmares I had after Kimori
was first shown. Many people put it in to my head that Kecleon might
be an evolution of good old Treecko, and I'm so glad it isn't. It's
colour change thing is pretty neat, fits in with RS's abilities
too. [One of the first three R/S Pokemon ever to have been seen... That's probably the only reason I like it, it's a bugger to train in the games.-Gary] |
|
| 322. Krabby-Very simple, and boring really, but I
love it's "voice". COOOOOOOKEEEEEEE! [It's cute... I like cute.... I do prefer Corphish now though-Gary] |
|
| 323. Kingler-First anime appearance ROCKED. It hyper beamed and everything, perfection. It's RS sprite is horrible though. I made a cool evolution for it, but I lost him. -_- | |
| 324. Corphish-This always reminds me of Gary's Irish
joke. Heh. It looks better than Krabby, but Ash getting it in the
anime bores me. Same thing all over again… [COR! PISH! LOOK AT ALL THAT PISH! COOOR.... XD-Gary] |
|
| 325. Crawdaunt- MAHA! I do quite like him. He looks rather immobile, but still, kick ass. | |
| 326. Shuckle-Very meh, but making berry juice in his shell is rather unique, so makes him stand out a little. But no one knows about that, so it backfires. | |
| 327. Remoraid-Quite boring really. Nothing to say.
At all. So there, I'll leave it to Gary. [A redeeming feature is the fact they're attatched to Mantine... Handy for 2-2 battles in RP terms that. Really that's about it for Remoraid-Gary] |
|
| 328. Octillary-Only Pokemon to get octozooka naturally,
so cool, but I dislike his looks, so meh. [So wouldn't believe Remoraid evolves into this if you told me in bold black letters... well when G/S/C came out anyway-Gary] |
|
| 329. Mantine-Heh, almost coolish, but I'm not sure
why I dislike it compared to most Pokemon. Could be the god damn
amount of water Pokemon. Do we need them all? [I like Mantine, one of my favourite Gold Pokemon. I want to have one which shoots Remoraid at the other Pokemon...-Gary] |
|
| 330. Qwilfish-Yeh, water type. Should evolve in to
that other spiky thing, Bah. [It needs an evo... it's sooo bland and boring without one. Yet again, underexposed and it pays for it -Gary] |
|
| 331. Swinub-Horrible RS pose, to be honest, but pretty
cool. And it can learn Icicle Spear, I think, once of the super
moves. He is the only one other than the FR LG starters to get one
of those. [The super moves that is... Swinub's alright, useful if you need an Ice Pokemon-Gary] |
|
| 332. Piloswine- Again, pretty cool, but a little heavy for my liking. It looks really slow. | |
| 333. Delibird-Pretty fugly, and only learns one attack
naturally I think, present. I'm not really to interested by it,
pretty mehish. [Lol... who cares? It's a Christmas Pokemon! Santa Bird-Gary] |
|
| 334. Sneasel-Like Absol, one of my faves, he rules
completely. In most of my fics, there was a scene where the evil
guy's Sneasel attacks a Pidgey nest and steals some eggs. I think
it's so cool, and that scene always rocked for me. [Lol... EVERYONE must have had one of those in their fics...-Gary] |
|
| 335. Pineco-Veeeery mehish. It can't move! The anime did use as a comedy Poke though, with the explosions. | |
| 336. Forretress-One of the first to learn spikes,
which was quite a good trapping move. I don't really like it visually,
but it isn't too bad. [At least it can move... and it's the only Pokemon Brock took with him to Hoenn-Gary] |
|
| 337. Poliwag- Horrid RB sprite, but nice in RS. It's very simple, but a classic. | |
| 338. Poliwhirl-No mouth! I guess it could spray water
from it's nostrils. At least it has arms now! [The water comes from the stomach according to the anime, notice how the swirl goes the other way to Poliwags?-Gary] |
|
| 339. Poliwrath- Just a bigger Poliwhirl really, I
never really liked it too much, although it does have the fighting
type now. [Crystal got the swirl around the wrong way... Dozy game-Gary] |
|
| 340. Politoed-I have a soft spot for the Toed! It's
adorable! I have it in my crystal team, it kicks ass! One of the
few alternate evolutions I like. [It looks dumb... I really have never liked this. Poliwrath looked mean... this looks like someone fed it dumb pills. Logically however it does make sense that a Poliwag should evolve into a Frog of some sort, not something that looks like it's wearing a frogman suit-Gary] |
|
| 341. Aipom-Simple, odd, ok for RP, and funny. That's
all really. [The third movie intro featured one... the only time i've seen on in battle. I do like the way it moved there and i can see myself using it... if only it used a decent sprite every now and then...-Gary] |
|
| 342. Eevee-Ah, here we go. The beginning of my favourite
line, die to all of the forms. Eevee on it's own is quite cute,
but useless in battle really, seeing as it isn't meant for battle. [The trick is to train it up until it learns bite then evolve it, no matter which way you evolve it having a dark attack slapped on is invaluable-Gary] |
|
| 343. Vaporeon-I like all of the Eeveelutions, they
all look cool. Vaporeon is really elegant, I have to like it. Despite
it being ANOTHER water type. (Yay! Last non legendary water type!) [Lol... water types arn't that bad. The fact that there are more of them than anything else makes sense. The world is 3/4s water after all -Gary] |
|
| 344. Jolteon-Ok, least favourite Eevee form, due to those spikes, but it's electric type saves it for me. I love electric types, especially dogs. | |
| 345. Flareon- Cuteness! I also love fire types, so
I have to like Flareon. That mane is really cool, and I loved it
in the anime. [It's cute... the fur is brilliant on the new sprites...I just love Flareon, lol-Gary] |
|
| 346. Espeon- Extremely rocking, and helps my theory
that psychic types are the light type of Pokemon, if not the neutral,
with fighting being "light". Anyway, Espeon's tail rocks,
as does it's head, and that "third eye". Very Persian
like, that jewel. [That thing i mentioned on Eevee's thing really comes in handy on Espeon. Having a Psychic Pokemon with Bite is a rather handy thing, especially in G/S/C where there are only a few Dark Pokemon-Gary] |
|
| 347. Umbreon-The bestest! Mainly because it is a
dark type, but those rings rule. It might be a little lacking in
attacks, but I love him! [Gary has one in the anime... ^_^... I prefer it to Espeon, but that's because i tend to like the dark side-Gary] |
|
| 348. Beldum-He may only have Take Down, but I like him. It's movement is explained in the Pokedex, which put's him above the over "floaters" who just annoy me when they, well, float. | |
| 349. Metang-I like the combination of two Beldum's, I hope that's how they evolve in the anime, but meeting up with another one. It's face is a little strange, but the evolution makes up for it. | |
| 350. Metagross-Very cool! Two Metangs this time,
so four beldums. That cross on it's face is cool, and this is definitely
my favourite RS power trio. [I found it strange how many power trios there were in R/S... Metagross is cool though-Gary] |
|
| 351. Paras-Now, the ones we left out of the order,
and therefore mostly boring and average. It is very bleh, but ok.
It made a goodish grass type early on when caught in Mount Moon,
if you could find one. [They arn't the most powerful this up coming lot... but they are rare... mostly. Some however do have the potential to be very powerful advesaries and few of them can be called 'bog standard'-Gary] |
|
| 352. Parasect-I hate the big mushroom "shell", but it serves it's purpose as a battler and status effecter. | |
| 353. Venonat-Another annoying bug, so I was never
too keen on it. Any comments Mr Oak? [^_^... I love it. It was cute in the anime, i love it's eyes and it's nose with the little teeth and how the anime used it's senses to great effect...^_^-Gary] |
|
| 354. Venomoth-Again, bleh. I never used it, and never
planned to. I hate it! [Not a patch on Venonat... Really it seems to hold up more competition to the other flying bugs of Buttefree, Dustox and Beautifly-Gary] |
|
| 355. Tangela-Again, never used, due to rarity and
lack of purpose in my teams. I wish I knew what it's body looked
like though.. [One of the early TCG cards OWNED... I built up killer decks with those Tangela... I think it needs a bit more exposure though-Gary] |
|
| 356. Diglett-Much like Magnemite, very bland. It
was a good HM slave, Strength, Cut and Dig, and in GS onwards, rock
smash. [It learns Dig Naturally!!! And you can get one to cream Surge with... what more do you need-Gary] |
|
| 357. Dugtrio-Another 3X the blandness Pokemon, yet
more useful than Magneton. With Earthquake he can kick ass, if you
haven't made him an HM slave. [Very, Very, VERY Powerful if you train one properly. I know because i had one in Red and creamed EVERYONE with it... then everyone lost interest in Pokemon and i had to end up fighting just the trainers in the game...bleargh. They're no challenge-Gary] |
|
| 358. Sudowoodo-I used this until I got my Larvitar,
about Lv 55 I think, might have been later. It is pretty good when
fighting, and it's background is just funny. [Lol.... Because of how it annoyed me when i first played G/S without knowing what the hell people were saying to me i went off it. It's alright but i so would never train one again-Gary] |
|
| 359. Slakoth-Aw, our last 3 tier evolution line.
This one has a very dodgy name me thinks, could just be my mind
though. It's ok, nothing special. [If it had been Flakoth it would have been muuuch dodgier =P-Gary] |
|
| 360. Vigoroth-What the? He doesn't belong here! Look
at Slakoth, then Slaking, then Vigoroth. Visually it doesn't fit.
Not that it matters, the names don't either. [It's first ever sighting through a Coro-Coro Sreenshot of the anime when Ash faces Norman enticed many people into liking it.. if only for this part of the line. Why on earth it looks nothing like the pokemon either side of it and has a completely different name and attitude i don't understand.-Gary] |
|
| 361. Slaking-Ok, annoying characteristic, but his
power makes up for that. He's ok, but not too special. [Slaking should be beaten to death with Marowak's club... Oh wait, already done that =p-Gary] |
|
| 362. Snorlax-Everyone knows about the 'Lax. I liked
him in the anime, never used him in the games, but Red's was a bitch
to kill. [I personally like him... I know Stel hates him. Never trained one properly but i do like it's attitude to life... Eat and Sleep. Where's the hurt in that?-Gary] |
|
| 363. Ponyta-Guess who forgot to put this in earlier
eh Gary? Yes you. Nothing special, but I liked the anime thing with
the flame. At least it's another fire type. [=P... I think Ponyta/Rapidash belongs near the end anyway. Afterall they're 'legendary' Pokemon without the actual legendary status.-Gary] |
|
| 364. Rapidash-Again, see above. It is a unicorn though, so pretty cool. Needs an evolution with wings though. | |
| 365. Ditto-Last non legendary, and well worthy of
the spot. The breeder's friend, I think I bred everything I needed
to with a Ditto. In battle, nothing special, not worth using to
often, but great for breeding. [It had little use in R/B/Y except for those who wanted to cheat by using the opponent's pokemon against them. With Breeding however Ditto has become invaluable and you definitely NEED one if you want to breed. I used one recently to breed out the stat weaknesses of Pikachu to make a Colosseum Destroyer-Gary] |
|
| 366. Articuno-So we begin our final countdown of
my all mighty review. Not my favourite bird, but still very cool.
I can't believe Gary didn't notice the Uno, Dos, Tres thing until
we made this new order! I only used an Articuno in my n00b days
in the game, but soon saw the error of my ways and restarted. The
Ice type boosts my opinions of it though. [It's pretty... I like the way it shines with the advanced sprite... though not with the shiny sparkle - Gary] |
|
| 367. Zapdos-The only RB bird I properly trained, and is still in my original team. Not because it is a legendary, but because I love him! Those wings rock, as does it's face and beak. | |
| 368. Moltres- Meh, not too keen for some reason.
It's not bad by any shot, but doesn't appeal to me. The anime Indigo
flame thing was cool. Oh, and before Gary says it. "I AM A
MIGHTY MOLTRES!" [BITCH! How could you not think of Moltres and not think of James in the funniest ever episode of the anime? All three birds have a nice legend behind them, Articuno saved lost people on mountains, Zapdos created thunderstorms to guide people through lost lands and Moltres is the symbol of the Indigo League. The way they linked to Luiga however just added the tip of the iceberg. Pity they never used such a thing in FR/LG-Gary] |
|
| 369. Ho-oh- I always thought it looked mad, but it's
first anime appearance did look rather cool. I used him in Gold
for a little while, until Lugia. Like Lugia is the "leader"
of the birds, Ho-oh seems to be the equivilant for the dogs, in
Crystal at least. [It's come a long way in looks since it's first appearence in the first ep of the anime. It looks a lot meaner now. It may be a flaming peacock but i do happen to like it. One of the best things of G/S/C were the two legendary birds, both of which i fell in love with-Gary] |
|
| 370. Lugia-^_^ Love him! He looks cool, and is super
cool. I would probably prefer to train one up than use the Lv 70
one, for areo blast and better stats, but Meh. It's movie appearance,
although I didn't see it, made it look cool, and set it up as the
"leader" of the birds. [Bad R/S Sprite... but otherwise it's fantastic. Pokemon2000 is undoubtedly the best Pokemon Movie ever and i'm sure no small part of it was thanks to Lugia-Gary] |
|
| 371. Latias-Obviously made for double battles, which
annoys me a little, seeing as you don't really need two. They look
ok, but nothing special to be honest. Dragon though, I think, so
good. [The ONLY Legendary Pokemon... well apart from Mew and Mewtwo- which have been speculated but not properly confirmed as Female and Male respectively, to have genders... but not proper genders- Latias is the younger sister of Latios and is only available in Sapphire, the opposite to it's colour-Gary] |
|
| 372. Latios-I think they should be connected to Lugia
somehow, or if not that, Togetic. I mean, come on, they could so
easily be evolutions for Togetic, depending on gender. [Older brother and available in Ruby, in the wild at least. You need an Eon ticket in Sapphire-Gary] |
|
| 373. Raikou-Nice RS sprite, but a little odd looking
in the Sugimori art. Zapdos and Raikou go together really weell,
as I demonstrated in my cool legendary picture years ago. [Ya see, this is where people get confused. Raikou is without much doubt a lot closer looking to a Cat than a Dog... the other two however are obviously Dogs, especially Entei. Hence everyone has argued over whether they are the Legendary Cats or Dogs. Personally i go with Dogs-Gary] |
|
| 374. Entei-My favourite dog, shame it was so hard
to catch though. The spikes on it's back, and that cape of smoke
are both rocking. That and I love fire types. [More game info coming your way now... In FR/LG the Dog/Cat you run into is dependent on which starter you picked, which means they compliment your team. They're also all available in Colosseum-Gary] |
|
| 375. Suicune-Odd how the birds have an ice type,
yet the dogs have a water type. Meh. I dislike the RS sprite, but
atleast he got a good story in Crystal. Shame he was such a bugger
to catch in GS though. [The 4th movie was awful... Suicune's appearence in it was great though. And it dispelled the argument over how you say it's name once and for all. In FR/LG you can catch Suicune after beating the Elite 4 and if you picked Charmander as your starter, Entei is Bulbasaur and Raikou is Squirtle-Gary] |
|
| 376. Regirock-The oddest trio ever. Regirock's Sugimori
art is cool though. The capturing technique was really unique, and
therefore quite interesting. [Dumb Regis...-Gary] |
|
| 377. Regice-Meh, I think he looks pretty stupid,
but still. I guess that Braille on it's face is something to do
with the Braille involved with catching it, since all the Regi's
have it. [...Their only bonus is the puzzles... which were the first time Pokemon had put any proper puzzles into challenging you for getting the Legendaries-Gary] |
|
| 378. Registeel-Quite cool looking android, and the
first steel legendary. I always thought the steel types were under
publicised, but not as much as dark, who have no legendary! [...That and their battle music which rocks to high heavens... Other than that the Regi's could burn in hell, the puzzles were great ideas and the music rocks but you'll probably never bother TRYING to get them unless you're desperate to fill up your dex-Gary] |
|
| 379. Kyogre-Yeah, pretty cool. Shame it has a really
good advantage against it's ruby counterpart though. The auto rain
dance could be pretty useful, especially if Kyogre has thunder,
but it works the other way too. [Ahhh... Good old Kaiorca... These things were just simply revealed to us with the Box art for R/S. We didn't have a clue what the hell they were until Coro Coro later that month-Gary] |
|
| 380. Groudon-I don't like it's face in the RS sprite,
but I guess the other art is ok. It is cool, shame about that weakness
to Kyogre though. That knife like tail looks nifty too. [Terrible R/S sprite, especially compared to Kyogre. In all it's other mediums it looks just as it should; big, bad and powerful. Pity you have to look at that to train it-Gary] |
|
| 381. Rayquaza-I doubt RS will get a third game now, but if it did, it would have to be Emerald, and explain more about Rayquaza. The first "real" dragon, if you like, but I don't think it needs those arms, they look stupid. | |
| 382. Mew-He's under the truck! Or not. I managed
to get an official one, which is now on my Gold cartridge. Obviously,
it's ability to get any TM is useful, if not on the edge of superplaying
in RP. Now we need to figure out how to get him in FR LG.. [The TRUE Uber-Legendary. This is the Pokemon everything else wants to be and I can bet that every trainer LOVES Mew and probably has extremely fond memories of it years ago when it was what everyone wanted and what your best friend always had but you never did-Gary] |
|
| 383. Celebi-We really got conned on this one. How
come the Japanese can catch him in crystal, yet we can't? Ripoff!
Time traveling is pretty cool, but I never got one, so can't comment
too much. [The japanese had to get the GS ball through some weird event though. All the events were kept in the Crystal Game to catch Celebi, as was the GS Ball it's self. Without cheating though you could never activate it and Nintendo for some reason decided to simply give it out like they did with Mew instead of giving you a GS ball-Gary] |
|
| 384. Jirachi-Odd, but the movie sounds cool/. It
looks like some kind of rag doll type thing, but I'll let that pass.
The last of the Kawaii legendaries, so far. [Meh... Why is it part Steel though? Awww Well. If you're American you should have one by now. If you, like us are not you'll have to cross your fingers that we'll get it with Colosseum in May-Gary] |
|
| 385. Mewtwo-Ah, the memories of the n00b days. My
first red team consisted of-Venusaur Lv 50 odd, Articuno Lv 60,
Moltres Lv 62, Zapdos Lv 65, Blastoise Lv 52 and Mewtwo Lv 99. Then
I restarted, and am no longer a n00b. Mewtwo is really quite cool,
love the anime story. He was better in GS when having a Mewtwo didn't
mean you were unstoppable by in game trainers. [The most powerful Pokemon ever apparently... that's wrong of course but it was definitely the most powerful in R/B/Y. I fell in love with it and admittedly used it but it's movie just made me love it even more. It really is one of the best Pokemon ever but not one to train unless you want to look like a n00b-Gary] |
|
| 386. Deoxys-Phew. Well, as you can see Deoxys has
a different sprite, and stats and moveset, in each game. One for
RS, one for Fire Red and another for Leaf Green. I think the Fire
Red one looks better, it's less odd and more symmetrical. I can't
wait to find out more about it, apparently it's a body built around
a strange crystal from space. The movie should be good, I wonder
if it morphs in that. [Fire Red's one rocks with all those tentacles... Otherwise i'm not a big fan of Deoxys. We'll see if my opinions change after the 7th movie.-Gary] |
|
| 387-What? Ack, bugger. Now what the hell am I going
to do? I guess it's an unown mystery. [Sprite is the 'Missingno' of R/S... one of them anyway, there is another one-Gary] |
|
| Well that's the Review that was. All 386 Pokemon nailed to the floor with ten inch nails. So until the Next Generation of a hundred or so come out you'll just have to stick with Pokecharms for more random, crazy and insane fun. Remember, we're Crazy and Proud and this review only licks the top of the fruit flavoured iceberg-Gary Oak | |
