Originally scheduled to take place in summer 2020, London is finally playing home to the Pokémon World Championships for the very first time this August.

Competitors from all over the world will battle for the title of Pokémon World Champion and more than a million dollars in prizes across a record-breaking five different categories throughout the extended weekend tournament.

Joining the Pokémon Video Game Championship, played using Pokémon Sword & Shield, are tournaments for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokkén Tournament DX, Pokémon Unite and Pokémon GO.

This will also be the last year Pokkén Tournament will be featured during the event.

A Pokémon Center Pop-up shop will also be available, and will include event-exclusive Pikachu and Roserade plushes among other special Worlds related merchandise.

This year, all events will be featured live on their own special Twitch channel as below.

Thursday, August 18:

Opening Ceremony on all streams at 9 a.m.

Main Stage Stream:

    • Finals: 3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

  • 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Pokémon GO Main Double Elimination Bracket

Saturday, August 20:
