A brand new item and feature is rolling out right now to Pokémon Go and with it has also come the debut of the Galarian Legendary Birds. The new Daily Adventure Incense is a free item you can receive and use once per day, lasts 15 minutes once activated and may spawn Pokémon that you wouldn’t normally see in the wild otherwise – including Legendary Pokémon.

Datamining has suggested that the Pokémon available via the Daily Adventure Incense are only those that you have caught previously, but as the feature has begun to roll out to players this evening, the Galarian forms of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres have already been spotted appearing when using the item. This marks their debut in Pokémon Go – although as their appearance is inconsistent with the expected functionality of the item, it’s unclear whether or not you must have already caught their Kantonian forms first.

Unfortunately for those who still feel aggrieved by the changes to the standard incense earlier in the year, the Daily Adventure Incense seems to be even less effective while stationary. It’s recommended to only use it when travelling.

Fortunately, consideration has at least been made to how many Poké Balls you might start quickly using up when using the new item on a daily basis. If you have fewer than or exactly 30 total Poké Balls, Great Balls and Ultra Balls, you will receive 30 Poké Balls for free upon activating the Daily Adventure Incense, so you will always at least be able to use the item.

As with other Incense Items, you can find the new Daily Adventure Incense in your bag. Once used, it will be removed from your bag until the next day. It is not included in the total amount of items in your bag.

After completing your 15 minute adventure with the Incense on, a screen will show you all of the Pokémon you caught using it along with how far you travelled. This can also be saved and shared with friends.

Finally, you can only have one type of Incense active at any one time, and to unlock the Daily Adventure Incense for the first time you will need to complete the new associated Special Research tasks for it.
