Niantic Announces An Instinctive Hero Event for Pokémon GO, featuring the debuts of Larvesta and Volcarona and a special Elekid

Niantic has announced a new event for Pokémon GO, An Instinctive Hero, running from Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 8, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. 

The event will feature the debuts of Larvesta, the Torch Pokémon, and Volcarona, the Sun Pokémon, as well as various bonuses and features. 

Larvesta will be available to hatch from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs, with players also having the opportunity to hatch a Shiny Mantyke from 7 km Eggs. 

During the event, players can expect increased chances of hatching Shiny Pokémon from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs, 2x XP for hatching Pokémon, and 2x Stardust for hatching Pokémon. 

In addition to all of the hatching opportunities, the event also offers Special Research featuring the leader of Team Instinct, Spark. Players who complete the research will be rewarded with an encounter with an Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory. This will be the only way to encounter this specific Elekid during this Season.

Players can also expect to encounter a variety of Pokémon while completing Field Research tasks, including Magneton, Chansey, Electabuzz, Magmar, Snorlax, Mantine, and Chimecho

Finally, the Seasonal Special Research, An Everyday Hero, remains available for Trainers throughout Season 10: Rising Heroes. Players will have until the end of Season 10: Rising Heroes on June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time to claim the Special Research, which can then be completed any time afterwards.
