Next month’s Pokémon Go Community Day has been announced to feature Galarian Zigzagoon in all its glory. It will take place on the 13th of August. Like previous months, the event will run from 11am to 2pm local time. There will also be a Timed Research available on the day and bonus raid battles after the Community Day hours ends, which I’ve detailed below.

If you fully evolve a Galarian Zigzagoon or Galarian Linoone to Obstagoon on the day of the event, between 11am and 7pm local time, your Obstagoon will get the Charged Attack Obstruct. This move has a 15 base power in Trainer battles and is guaranteed to increase the user’s Defence while lowering the opponents Defence. Obstruct will also have a 20 base power in Gyms and Raids.

Further event bonuses will also be available up to 5 hours after the Community Day hours end. These include: 3x Catch Stardust, 2x chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive XL Candy from catching Pokémon, 2x Candy for catching Pokémon, 3-hour Lure Modules, 3-hour Incense, an additional special trade, half the Stardust required for normal trades and Community Day snapshot photobombs.

As per usual, a Community Day Special Research story will also be available in the shop for $1.00 USD to add a series of Research Tasks and rewards for the day.

A group bonus for catching a certain amount of Pokémon from a single Lure Module will cause wild Galarian Linoone to appear near the Lured PokéStop.

Timed Research

A special Timed Research will also be available on August Community Day from 11am to 7pm local time. You’ll need to catch 100 Galarian Zigzagoon total to fully complete the research tasks, but as you progress you’ll receive several rewards:

• Obstagoon Hat
• Obstagoon Glasses
• Obstagoon Gloves
• Obstagoon Pose

If you miss out on claiming all of the rewards, you’ll be able to purchase them from the in-game shop after the event ends.

Four Star Raids

Following on the heels of the Community Day hours, from 2pm until 7pm local time you’ll be able to challenge and defeat special Four Star Raids to encounter Galarian Zigzagoon around the gym for 30 minutes. The shiny encounter rates for the Galarian Zigzagoon will be the same as those found during the Community Day hours. These raids will feature Galarian Linoone and can only be accessed locally.

Galarian Zigzagoon and Community Day themed stickers will also be available from Gifts, spinning PokéStops, and in the in-game shop.
