Pokémon Presents: Two new animated Pokémon Series announced
As well as an additional trailer for the upcoming Pokémon Horizons anime series (though still no release date announced), two new animated Pokémon series have been announced in today’s Pokémon Presents. Both series are due to release on Pokémon’s Youtube Channel in the coming weeks.
Pokémon: Path to the Peak
While most Pokémon animations have adapted the Pokémon video games, this unique series actually focuses on the Trading Card Game. Viewers will follow Ava and her partner Pokémon, Oddish, on their journey to rise to the top in the world of competitive Pokémon Trading Card Game play, in an art style quite similar to the Pokémon TCG Live desktop and mobile game’s avatars.
The first episode will be screened this Friday, the 11th of August, during the Pokémon World Championships taking place this weekend in Yokohama, Japan. It will then be available worldwide on the Pokémon Youtube channel. No details have yet been announced about how many more episodes there will be.
Pokémon Paldean Winds
Meanwhile, an animated series focusing on Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s Paldea Region will launch on the 6th of September on the Pokémon Youtube channel. Animated by Wit Studio – who previously animated the Pokémon Legends Arceus’ miniseries, Pokémon Hisuian Snow, and also collaborated on the 21st Pokémon Movie, The Power of Us – this limited original series follows 3 Paldean academy students, Ohara, Aliquis and Hohma, on a journey of growth and learning while attending school. Characters from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, such as Professor Clavell, Arven and Nemona, are all teased to appear as well.
