Pokémon Sleep now available for pre-registration, how to play video released

Pokémon Sleep is now available for pre-registration on the Google Play Store, with an anticipated launch alongside the new Pokémon Go Plus+ accessory due later this month. An introduction video has been released, detailing the game’s unique gameplay and the Sleep Style Dex, which catalogues the different types of sleep that can be encountered across multiple Pokémon species.

Each player of the game will receive a Snorlax companion, which can be made stronger by feeding it food and drinks during the waking hours. Overnight, the app tracks sleep using sensors in the phone or the Plus+ accessory and assigns a score based on whether the user hit a target of a healthy amount of undisturbed sleep. This score, combined with the strength of Snorlax, determines the “Drowsy Power”, which increases the amount of Pokémon that may gather around the Snorlax to sleep.

As players use the app to track their sleep, their Snorlax will grow bigger, and they have a greater chance of seeing rarer Pokémon and sleep styles. The app also provides information about the quality of sleep, such as falling-asleep and wake-up times, average sleep duration, recorded sounds, and relaxing sounds to help you sleep. When the Plus+ accessory launches on the 14th July, it will also be able to connect to Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sleep, providing all the existing functions of the Plus.

If you’re interested in the game, you can pre-register on the Play Store and automatically download the game when it’s available. Pokémon Sleep is expected to release around the same time as the Go Plus+ on both the App Store and Play Store.
