The latest Pokémon Presents stream will take place at 2pm BST on the 8th August
Ahead of a big week for Pokémon, with the 2023 World Championships set to take place in Yokohama, Japan, next weekend, the latest Pokémon Presents live stream has been confirmed to take place on Tuesday, the 8th of August.
While nothing has been specifically confirmed to appear, the 35-minute presentation is almost guaranteed to feature a significant update on the first Scarlet & Violet DLC pack ahead of its scheduled Autumn release date. Updates for ongoing mobile games such as Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon Café ReMix, Pokémon Go and the recently released Pokémon Sleep are also all expected.
Detective Pikachu Returns, announced in June’s Nintendo Direct with a 6th October release date on the Switch, will also most likely appear.
The Pokémon World Championships opening and closing ceremonies also usually feature news – particularly updates aimed specifically at the competitive play of the Trading Card Game or Video Games – but there is speculation that because this year’s championships will see the closing ceremony, in particular, take place at a difficult time for those outside of Japan (overnight in the US and early Monday morning for the UK and much of Europe), announcements at Worlds itself might be limited to the 2024 venue announcement.
Interestingly, the official announcement of the upcoming Pokémon Presents included a ‘glitching’ video featuring the ‘M’ in Pokémon appearing momentarily on its own in a neon style, before glitching out completely and alternating between the standard Pokémon Presents logo and a full-neon-lit style version. We’ll have to wait until Tuesday to see how this might pay off in an actual reveal.
We’ll bring you a roundup of all the day’s news as it happens next week, so make sure to check back for more!
